Mastering the Art of Effective Leadership

The Management and Leadership major is ideal for students looking to enhance their natural talents with skills valued in virtually every field. In this major, you will enhance your capacity to lead, as you develop management, problem-solving, team-based, and ethical decision-making skills. You’ll apply what you learn on-campus in leadership roles and through experiential learning opportunities.

What to Expect

In today’s economy, managing and leading people is becoming one of the most important aspects of any organization. Management knowledge and leadership skills are sought after by employers in a wide range of occupational settings including entertainment, real estate, retail, and healthcare.

What Will You Study?

You’ll learn to oversee people and projects in such courses as Human Resources Management and Project Management, and also study business law and the successful interpersonal skills used by managers. You’ll gain valuable experience through internships and participation in the Management Association or in our more than 70 clubs/organizations. Our students have opportunities to connect with executive mentors and alumni professionals, including through the capstone RealTest simulation event as a senior. To jumpstart your career, you may also pursue the Five-year Bachelor/MS in Organizational Leadership combined degree.

We'll place you with the type of business or organization that suits you and enhances your marketability. Many times these internship experiences lead directly to employment opportunities. You'll choose from openings in the region's leading insurance providers, manufacturing, financial services, technology, retail, healthcare, communications, and other sectors.
